Umbra Bar Video Series

Umbra is a local bar in my neighborhood

that specializes in elevated food and drink experiences with nightly live performances spanning many genres. The theme looks refined but there is a playfulness to their bar when you walk in. The cocktails are not-so-subtle nods to the co-owners favorite bands and the food is refined takes of the staple bar food you find at any bar in America.

I approached them with an ongoing series idea to help promote their menu and inject some more levity into their social media. What I saw was an opportunity to do playful videos, short in time, that advertised specific drinks or their specials.

The Burger, Shot, Beer special ad required coordinating with the employees for film time. I had to direct the crew and work on a tight schedule.

Part of an ongoing series where each cocktail gets a video. This first video is a misheard interpretation on the cocktail name “Someone Great”. In the ad, the contestants are asked who they are looking for in their ideal partner and the answers could be construed as both a person and a drink.
